Standards for the Protection of Minors

I. General rules

Taking into account the need to provide minors with due protection during their stay at the Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness hotel facility, the following "Standards for the Protection of Minors at Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness" are introduced, hereinafter referred to as the Standards.

Whenever the Standards refer to:

  • hotel – this means the Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness facility,
  • hotel manager – this means the person managing Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness,
  • hotel employee – this means a person employed at Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness, regardless of the type of contract under which he or she works at the hotel,
  • minors – this is understood to mean a person who is under 18 years of age.

At every stage of applying the procedures resulting from the Standards, it should be remembered that they may be an inconvenience for hotel Guests, therefore, it is necessary to show understanding for the Guests' reactions and explain to them the necessity, both actual and legal, of carrying out these procedures. However, the reaction of a hotel Guest cannot be a reason to depart from the procedures.

All procedures set out in the Standards must be applied in a rational manner, taking into account all the circumstances.

Villa Park Wisełka employees should, in contacts with minors, take into account the level of their emotional and intellectual development, and in cases where the minor is a disabled person or a person with special educational needs, this should be taken into account.

II. Rules ensuring safe relations between hotel employees and minors, in particular prohibited behaviors towards minors

Any contacts between a hotel employee and a minor staying at Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness should not go beyond interactions justified by the employee’s professional duties.

Employees must not use physical, psychological, or sexual violence, cyberbullying or neglect in any form.

It is recommended to avoid being alone with a minor in private spaces, such as a hotel room.

III. Rules and procedures for identifying a minor staying at a hotel and his/her relationship with the adult with whom he/she is staying at the hotel

The identification of a minor and their relationship with the adult with whom they are staying at the hotel is made by employees responsible for checking in Guests. Identification is based on a statement by the adult staying at the hotel with the child, confirming the child's data and specifying the relationship between them and the child.

In case of refusal to complete the declaration, Villa Park Wisełka will refuse to register the guest.

If the employee responsible for checking in the Guests has any doubts about the relationship between the minor and the adult with whom he/she is staying at the hotel, the person managing the hotel should be discreetly notified. The minor and the adult should remain under the observation of the hotel employees during this time.

IV. Rules and procedures for responding in the event of a reasonable suspicion that the well-being of a minor staying on the hotel premises is at risk

If there is a reasonable suspicion that the well-being of a minor staying on the premises of Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness is at risk, every hotel employee is obliged to take appropriate actions.

There is a reasonable suspicion that a minor has been harmed when circumstances have been observed that may indicate harm or when the minor has reported the harm.

Actions should include immediately notifying the person managing the hotel and, if necessary, the police.

An employee may also take direct action to stop the harm, provided it does not threaten his or her safety, the safety of the minor or other people.

V. Procedures and persons responsible for submitting notifications of suspicion of committing a crime to the detriment of a minor and notifying the guardianship court

The hotel manager or the person indicated in point IV paragraph 3 is obliged to notify the police or the guardianship court if the established circumstances justify it.

In emergency situations, any hotel employee is entitled to notify the police.

VI. Scope of competence of the person responsible for preparing hotel employees to apply the Standards, principles of preparing these employees to apply them and the method of documenting this activity

The hotel owner is responsible for preparing employees to apply the Standards.

Employees will have the opportunity to improve their competences related to the tasks resulting from the Standards as part of internal training, which will be confirmed by a signature on the attendance list and an appropriate declaration.

VII. Final Provisions

At least once every two years, the hotel owner will assess the Standards to ensure they are aligned with current needs and regulations. The assessment findings will be documented in writing.

The standards apply at Villa Park Wisełka SPA & Wellness and are available on the website www.villa-park.eu and in paper form, in a visible place at the Reception Desk, along with a shortened version intended for minors.
